Shooting has already begun on Damsels in Distress, so chalk this up as a rather belated announcement that Adam Brody and Greta Gerwig are set to star in the film, the first for director Whit Stillman since The Last Days of Disco in 1998.
Gerwig, last seen with Ben Stiller in** Greenberg**, will play a new student who falls in with a crowd of "style-obsessed college girls" who teach her their ways of "helping people at their grungy university". Brody's the love interest who her friends are unsure of.
Apparently the tone is a little Mean Girls, a little indie drama - which sounds rather promising. Expect to see the results sometime next year, we're guessing.
