Brittany Snow has signed on to star in Clock Tower, the latest videogame adaptation to quicken Hollywood’s pulse.

Snow, who was possibly the only person to escape from the remake of Prom Night with reputation not only intact, but enhanced, will play a troubled psychiatric patient who witnesses her parents die, and is thereafter troubled by religious imagery.

We’re sure there’s more to it than that, otherwise it could be a bit like a Biblical version of Tetris, with crosses and whatnot replacing little square blocks. And sure enough, it’s based on a popular survival horror series that, apparently, asks the player to use their noggin, rather than their itchy trigger fingers, to get out of trouble. Refreshing.

The film will be directed by Martin Weisz, who helmed the enjoyably nasty The Hills Have Eyes II, so we're hopeful that this will, at the very least, be stylish.

Shooting starts in LA in October.
