While the veil of secrecy still largely remains settled over Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland, there has been the odd plot leak and word is out that George Clooney and Hugh Laurie are aboard. Bird has now cast his female lead, with Britt Robertson scoring the role{ =nofollow}.

Most of the details about her character are still under wraps, but according to the Hollywood Reporter, she’s a high-school girl who has an interesting understanding of technology. She’ll end up wrapped up in a story that finds her looking to reclaim her future. It remains to be seen how quickly much of the mystery about this one starts to dissipate as shooting begins, but we’re sort of hoping Bird and co are able to keep as much as possible quiet, at least until the marketing team gets their hands on the footage.

Clooney and Laurie will feature alongside Raffey Cassidy and Thomas Robinson. Prometheus’ Damon Lindelof and Jeff Jensen wrote the script, and Bird will be calling action in August ready for a December 2014 release date.

Robertson has been seen in the likes of Dan In Real Life, Scream 4 and the upcoming Delivery Man with Vince Vaughn, which arrives on October 11.
