Britney Spears is the teen pop sensation who outraged conservative America with her school-set video for Baby One More Time, featuring a nubile Britney in pig-tails and gym skirt. That memorable performance is a perfect warm-up for a proposed role in a musical movie of Alice in Wonderland to be produced by MTV.
The original Alice, Alice Liddell, was the pre-pubescent muse of Lewis Carroll (aka Charles Dodgson), who wrote the Alice stories for her amusement. The close relationship between the author and child contributes to the popular opinion that Carroll had more than a fatherly interest in Alice, so no doubt he would welcome the prospect of Britney in a frilly frock and knee socks.
