British actress Jane Leeves - a huge star on both sides of the Atlantic thanks to her roles in American sit-com, Frasier (Daphne Moon) and classic English comedy series, Red Dwarf (Holly) - is for once happy to play second fiddle, having bagged a plum part in the Wes Craven drama, 50 Violins. Due for release next year, 50 Violins stars Meryl Streep as a music teacher in East Harlem. Leeves plays a well-to-do woman who goads her violinist husband into raising money for the school's music program. Gloria Estefan and Angela Bassett have also bagged roles for themselves.
