Meeting the family of your intended can be awkward and emotional at the best of times, but what if they're a super-rich bunch of eccentrics and have their own ideas about ways to welcome a new bride? That's the situation that Samara Weaving's Grace is thrust into in the trailer for Ready Or Not, which goes for full Red Band gore action.
Giving off some serious You're Next vibes (which is a good thing), Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett's film finds Grace marrying into the family of Alex Le Domas (Mark O'Brien). Invited to their stately pad for the wedding, she's amused and then intrigued to learn of a little ritual that involves the newcomer playing a game. Little does she suspect that the in-laws have much more violent intentions towards her, as a twisted round of hide-and-seek starts to rack up a body count.
Written by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, the film promises to be a comedic horror thriller with the likes of Andie MacDowell, Adam Brody, Henry Czerny and Kristian Bruun in the cast.
Ready Or Not will take a stab at UK cinemas on 27 September, in the wake of a 23 August Stateside arrival.
