Back in January, we learned of a potential new X-Men movie spin-off in the works with Deadpool director Tim Miller, which reportedly was to focus on the character of Kitty Pryde. It's taken a leap forward with word that comic book veteran Brian Michael Bendis will develop the script in conjunction with Miller.

Currently labouring until the title 143 – which appears to be a codename more than a final name for the film, it refers to Uncanny X-Men issue 143, which feature Pryde's first solo adventure, featuring her facing a demon alone at Xavier's school. How much the movie draws from the comic book remains to be seen, but Bendis is certainly qualified to work on the project given his years spent working for Marvel, creating characters such as Spider-Man alternate Miles Morales and Jessica Jones. Though he recently jumped ship to write for DC Comics, this film would see him back in the Marvel family.

However the script turns out, it'll have to wait for Miller to finish work on his next planned assignment: directing a new Terminator film for James Cameron.
