The animation domination of the US box office continued this weekend as Pixar scored another chart-topping launch with their latest, Brave. The adventure, about a young Scottish princess who decides to try to change her fate, took in an impressive $66.7 million across the three days, making it the fourth highest opener ever for the company.
With a new ‘toon arrival in town, Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted took a slight hit, but only went down one place with a healthy $20.2 million in its second week. That kept **Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter **from the top two, and it landed with a thud in third, making just $16.5 million. Fourth was Prometheus with $10 million and in fifth was Rock Of Ages, which made $8 million.
Snow White And The Huntsman sank one place to sixth, earning $8 million, above That’s My Boy at seventh with $7.9 million. At eight was The Avengers, finally starting its march out of the charts but still picking up $7 million after eight weeks on release. Ninth was Men In Black 3 with $5.6 million, ahead of Steve Carell’s latest, Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World, which had a disappointing start in 10th place with $3.8 million.
