Emma Stone won an Oscar starring for director Damien Chazelle in La La Land, so it's perhaps not surprising to learn that she's fielded an offer to reunite with him on his next project, Babylon. And Chazelle also has another big name circling the film, with word that Brad Pitt is also considering one of the lead roles.

According to Deadline, Babylon is being described as an R-rated drama set in a transitional period for Hollywood as silent moviemaking gave way to the talkies. It'll be an original story written by Chazelle that blends real people from history with fictional characters. The budget is big and the commitment from any studio would be equally hefty so there are plenty of talks, but this is expected to find a home soon, particularly given the chance of Stone and Pitt jumping aboard.

The director has been busy working on Netflix series The Eddy, while Pitt will next be seen in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In... Hollywood, due out on 14 August. Stone, meanwhile, will return as Wichita for Zombieland: Double Tap, headed to the UK on 18 October
