Big day for projects featuring Marvel's less super-powered (but still effective) heroes. Following on the heels of news that a Hawkeye series is in the works comes the addition of a new cast member for Black Widow. O-T Fagbenle is signing on for a lead role.

The British actor, more usually seen at the moment as Luke on The Handmaid's Tale, has scored a role that, as is standard for Marvel movies, is under wraps for now. The film hasn't even officially been confirmed by the studio yet, despite the presence of a director in Cate Shortland, a script from Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson and casting that already includes Scarlett Johansson (as Natasha, natch), David Harbour, Rachel Weisz and Florence Pugh.

As to what part of Romanoff's background or story is to be explored here similarly remains a mystery, though being labelled an origin story means we'll probably get to explore more of her murky past. And when will the movie be out? Look... We're all waiting until after Avengers: Endgame for new announcements, but shooting on this one is scheduled for June in London.
