With a recent work rate that would impress even the in-demand likes of James Franco and Ryan Gosling, Bill Nighy is a busy man - which is a good thing, since he always does a cracking job. And he’s now in negotiations to play a villain in I, Frankenstein.

Aaron Eckhart signed on to play the lead back in October, and he’ll star as Frankenstein’s creature. But it’s a more heroic role for the reanimated corpse (called Adam here) than usual, as he tries to avoid the evil demon army that hopes to unlock the secret of his creation so they can make an army of undead corpse beasts. If Nighy works out a deal, he’ll play the demon prince.

He’ll get some help in his diabolical mission from Australian actor Socratis Otto, who has jumped aboard to play his henchman.

Stuart Beattie adapted the script from Underworld co-creator Kevin Grevioux’s’ graphic novel, and he’s on to direct it starting in January.

Nighy can currently be heard (rather than seen) as Grandsanta in Arthur Christma****s, and he also has The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Wrath Of The Titans, Jack The Giant Killer and Total Recall all in various stages of post-production. Otto, meanwhile, is a Home And Away alumnus who has just finished work on Gone with Amanda Seyfried.
