Memoirs Of A Geisha writer Robin Swicord is opening a different sort of book to make her directorial debut.
She’s signed up Mario Bello, Emily Blunt, Kevin Zegers, Maggie Grace, Hugh Dancy, Jimmy Smits and Amy Brenneman for her adaptation of Karen Joy Foster’s novel The Jane Austen Book Club.
It’s the story of a book club (funny that) formed by several women and one man in California who meet to discuss Jane Austen’s work. We follow them as their lives intertwine for marriages, affairs, love and hate.
Swicord will start shooting the drama this week in Los Angeles.
