With the Coronavirus lockdown still largely in effect, people have been finding creative ways to share experiences together while being physically distant. The Beeb is adding a new function to some of its services, including iPlayer, BBC Sounds and Bitesize that allows people to watch or listen to programming together.

Called BBC Together, the system offers the chance to share programmes with others, as a host can share a link and control when the watch party starts and stops. It'll also be useful for students who want to watch a show as a group.

So if you're looking to host a watch party for shows such as Normal People (maybe not with grandparents) or Killing Eve, now you have the chance. And the iPlayer team has added a hefty serving of classic RKO movies, including Citizen Kane, King Kong and Bringing Up Baby, all of which could serve as prime watch together fodder.
