You don't have to be a long-dead star for your knick-knacks to command curio interest. Or at least that's what Drew Barrymore's mom seems to think, as she's decided to auction off a collection of her daughter's belongings in an internet sale on November 25.

E! Online reports that mom Jaid Barrymore is flogging off a bunch of items including the little red cowboy hat Drew wore when playing Gertie in E.T The Extra Terrestrial, as well as a painting of the actress commissioned by Steven Spielberg. Odd, you may think - and we think so too, especially as mother and daughter are apparently estranged. But perhaps it's simply an act of benevolence on the part of Jaid, who told the associated press in an interview, "Drew is such a special, amazing, magical person, I decided to put some of her things up on the Web site to allow people be a part of Drew's life." To be that part you'll have to shell out upward of $45,000 - the reserve price on the infamous hat. Click on
