Alec Baldwin will make his directorial debut with The Devil And Daniel Webster, a remake of the 1941 film by William Dieterle. He will also star, alongside Anthony Hopkins. Baldwin will play an unsucessful writer, Jabez Stone, who sells his soul to the devil in return for wealth and glory. When the devil comes to collect his soul, Stone enlists the help of politician Daniel Webster (Hopkins). Hopkins and Baldwin have previously starred together in Lee Tamahori's The Edge. Baldwin will next be seen in David Mamet's State And Main, while Hopkins will be reprising his role as charismatic serial killer Hannibal Lecter in Hannibal for Ridley Scott.
