Bad Boys

Even before the box office success of Bad Boys For Life this weekend, Sony was making moves to keep Will Smith and Martin Lawrence on our screens beyond this third outing. And, with any luck, we might not have to wait 17 years for the next movie.

Chris Bremner, who was one of the writers on Life, has been hired to write the script for the new film. Given that the potential seeds for another sequel are layered into the third film – even with all the talk of "one last time" – it's not hard to imagine that it can come together.

After lingering in development limbo for years following the second movie, there's new heat in the franchise.

And that's not the only film series that Bremner is looking to breathe fresh life into – he's also writing the long-gestating third National Treasure outing, which shares a producer (Jerry Bruckheimer) with Bad Boys.
