Arnie for President?

According to a report in the New York Post, Arnold Schwarzenegger is "preparing to be the next president of Austria." According to the paper, Arnie has dual citizenship and his Mother's boyfriend in Austria is head of the Upper House of the Austrian parliament. Austrian diplomat Hans Janitschek told the newspaper, "Schwarzenegger is a beloved figure in Austria. People are proud of him. I think he has a better chance of getting elected president of Austria than he does governor of California." (Since Schwarzenegger wasn't born in the Land of the Free, he can't be elected to anything there). Among his other friends are Thomas Klestil, the current President (who can't run again once his second term is over in 2004) and Kurt Waldheim, former Austrian president and general-secretary of the United Nations whose career took a sharp downturn when revelations of his Nazi background came out. It has to be said that most of this is speculation by the newspaper in question - Arnie himself has said nothing on the matter.
