Austrian ex-pat **Arnold Schwarzenegger **has joined the growing number of celebrities voicing objection to the new Austrian coalition government. Speaking out against Freedom Party leader Jorg Haider - whose party gained 30 per cent of the vote at last month's general elections - Arnie criticised Haider's immigration policy. "As an immigrant myself, I am offended by anyone who makes anti-immigrant statements", he told Daily Variety.
He continued, "It is my opinion that someone who makes statements like Haider's has no place in government." Though he denies extreme right-wing thinking, Haider has prompted a barrage of criticism from European leaders and the Austrian people, who this weekend held a series of demonstrations denouncing the Freedom Party's inclusion in government.
