Fairytale film casting stories appear to work like the old buses line – you wait a while for one, then three come along at once. So here’s the third to ping our news radar screens this past weekend: The Social Network’s Armie Hammer is now attached to star in Relativity Media’s The Brother’s Grimm: Snow White.

Yes, he’s moving on from a pair of twins who considered themselves Harvard royalty to an actual prince (well, a fairytale one) - Prince Andrew Alcott, which sort of sounds to us like a liability when it comes to princely names.

Still, the film already boasts Julia Roberts as the Queen and will be much more of a modern comedy adventure that finds Snow teaming with the dwarfs to get back the kingdom that is rightfully hers.

Tarsem Singh is directing from a script by Melissa Wallack and Jason Keller and while there’s no current solid choice for Snow, the producers have been talking to Saoirse Ronan about the role.

Singh will start calling the shots this May once they lock in the rest of the main cast, giving Hammer time to finish work on Clint Eastwood’s J Edgar.
