Joe Carnahan cooked up his own take on a Groundhog Day-style time loop story for Boss Level, hiring regular collaborator Frank Grillo and more controversial casting choice Mel Gibson to star last year. As he rolls the camera, he's added The Mummy's Annabelle Wallis to the cast.

Carnahan wrote the script for this one, which finds Grillo as a retired special forces officer trapped in a seemingly never-ending loop that re-sets when he dies each time. He'll have to figure out who is responsible for this situation and stop the assassins if he's to survive.

Wallis is playing Alice, a dental hygienist who has feelings for Grillo's character. She'll pop up in different ways across the story, as the situation shifts according to their actions.

Naomi Watts was reported as in talks to snag a role, but there's no word on whether she'll actually sign on alongside Grillo, Wallis, Gibson and Will Sasso. Wallis, meanwhile, will next be seen in Tag, which recently released a trailer online and will be on screens on 29 June.
