Angelina Jolie has signed to play real life intelligence operative Kathi Lynn Austin in a new action thriller being planned by Paramount, says Variety.
Austin has undertaken missions in Africa, Europe, Southeast Asia and Central America, where she battled arms trafficking and terrorism. She most recently worked for the U.N. Security Council. The film will centre on her battle with a fictional arms dealer who is inspired by Victor Bout, a Russian who is considered one of the world's biggest illegal arms dealers.
The film, which is planned as the first in a franchise, should give Jolie a chance to exercise her two greatest assets: looking sexy with a gun and trying to save the world.
