Lionsgate has hired screenwriter Andrea McCloud to write the workplace comedy, Cover Your Assets.
The comedy, described as **Working Girl **in reverse, revolves around a high-powered female executive who falls for a new guy – cue hilarity as gender politics clash with office politics.
The film will be the first produced screenplay for McCloud, who got the gig after her spec script, Abbie & Weber 4ever, attracted a lot of buzz when she was studying screenwriting at UCLA.
Of course, why that script hasn’t been produced is beyond us.
Cover Your Assets, which was picked up by Lionsgate after New Line had placed it in turnaround, will be produced by Jon Shestack and Ginny Brewer, while Jim Miller will oversee for Lionsgate.
