Anchorman 2 Comedy Cameos Leak

It’s something of an occupational hazard in our line of work ferreting out all the film information you need. Sometimes we come across things we might not actually want to know ahead of time. Such as learning the names of some of the people turning up as cameos in Anchorman: The Legend Continue****s. As fair spoiler warning, DO NOT READ BELOW the teaser trailer if you don’t want to find out.

Still with us? All right: So it turns out that at least two of the original film’s supporting players will be back, as Vince Vaughn’s Wes Mantooth (“Dorothy Mantooth is a saint!”) and Luke Wilson’s Frank Vitchard (Channel 2’s lead anchor, who also takes part in the news-rumble) will be back in action.

Meanwhile, continuing her run of comedy appearances, Nicole Kidman is set to show up in some capacity, though her role is being kept quiet.

They’re joining a cast that already includes Anchor-veterans Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and Christina Applegate alongside new recruits Kristen Wiig, James Marsden, Greg Kinnear and Harrison Ford.

Talking of Ford, he’s playing a “legendary newsman” and, while out stumping for Jackie Robinson biopic 42, he sat down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss his role alongside Ron Burgundy and the rest. "It was bizarre. They weren't all in the scene I did. It was just what's his name and the applesauce girl." He also admits it’s a relatively small cameo. "It's easy enough to cut out. It's not critical." Yeah, we think you’ll make the cut, Mr F. And if you don’t, there’s always a chance that director Adam McKay will have enough leftover material to craft a Wake Up, Ron Burgundy-style spin-off.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues is shooting right now and will be in cinemas on December 20.
