We already know that Jason Clarke and John Lithgow will be leading the cast for a new adaptation of Stephen King's horror tome Pet Sematary. Now Alien: Covenant's Amy Seimetz is joining them.

Clarke is starring as Louis Creed, a father who moves his family (including his wife, Rachel, the role Seimetz is in talks for) to a new home, and strikes up a friendship with Crandall, who knows the secrets of the small town they've arrived in. When the family's cat is killed in an accident, he guides them to a place beyond the local "pet sematary" (the spelling is in the book, based on how the neighbours have written the sign) and terrible things unspool from there.

Starry Eyes directors Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer are attached to direct, with a script by Jeff Buhler.

Seimetz, last seen in Lean On Pete, is part of the cast for Wild Nights With Emily, which has yet to find a UK date.
