Paramount is putting the gears in motion on the movie, which has Ice Age director Chris Wedge set to call the shots. Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger, who wrote Kung Fu Panda and its sequel for DreamWorks Animation and were drafted in by Paramount for the new SpongeBob SquarePants film, are at work on the script.

Plot details are being kept under a giant truck's hood for now, but Ryan will apparently be playing a single mother trying to make ends meet while raising her teenage son. We're betting some trucks of the monstrous kind make that tough for her.

As we mentioned, this would be something of a departure for an actress who more traditionally appears in the likes of Gone Baby Gone and Changeling. She has West Memphis Three drama Devil's Knot set for release on June 13, with Alejandro Gonzalez I
