She last dealt with onscreen terror in 2014's Annabelle, but Alfre Woodard is unafraid to face her fears again. She's now joined the cast of Juan Carlos Fresnadillo's Haunted.

Chad and Carey Hayes, no stranger themselves to horror after writing The Conjuring and this year's follow-up, have adapted the story from Henry James' novella Turn Of The Screw. The film will see a young woman arriving to work at a wealthy estate, but who soon starts to believe that the house is haunted.

And things take a turn for the creepier when she starts to suspect that the children in her care are possessed. As for Woodard, she'll be playing someone who works at the estate, so perhaps she'll one of those doing the scaring this time.

Woodard will be back on our screens in Luke Cage, playing ambitious Harlem politician Mariah Dillard, who has more to her than might first be suspected. The Marvel/Netflix series kicks off on the streaming service on September 30.
