War On Everyone

The most scabrous, amoral and generally unproductive cops in cinemas this year, War On Everyone’s double act of Terry Monroe (Alexander Skarsgård) and Bob Bolaño (Michael Peña) slouch into our cinemas soon. As this exclusive new clip from John Michael McDonagh’s new film shows, they can’t be relied on to do things by the book. Unless, of course, the book is called “How Not To Be A Cop”.

Caleb Landry Jones, the chasee in a sequence soundtracked by Fun Lovin’ Criminals’ Bear Hug, is a sleazy New Mexico strip club owner called Birdwell. He is, as Monroe points out, “a shit shot”. However, he knows quite a few people who aren’t.

If Birdwell is the clown, racehorse-owning playboy James Mangan (Theo James) is the ringmaster. They’re two of the possible felons Monroe and Bolaño’s enquiries (i.e. pursuit of drugs and dirty cash) lead them towards. Hey, all they want to do is "go fuck some scumbags".

War On Everyone lands on 7 October in the UK. To see it sooner – and introduced by an Empire double-act, no less – head one of three Picturehouse cinemas in London on 29 September.
