Al Pacino back in the mob life? Cue the “Just when I thought I was out… They pull me back in” speech! But it’s true: Pacino has signed on for a role in Gotti: Three Generations.

The man who, for some, will always be Michael Corleone has agreed to play Gambino crime family associate/underboss Neil Dellacroce, who acted as both friend and mentor to John Gotti Sr (John Travolta).

Gotti has been through the wringer lately, with original director Nick Cassavetes stepping away, only to be replaced by Barry Levinson and James Toback is giving the script a polish before shooting kicks off.

There has also been some debate as to whether Lindsay Lohan would be cast and what she would be playing, but now she’s apparently on board as Kim Gotti, wife of John Gotti Jr (a role that has yet to be cast). Elsewhere in the film, Travolta is keeping it in the family, with his real-life wife Kelly Preston and daughter Ella Bleu Travolta cropping up as Gotti Sr’s wife Victoria and sprog Angel. Joe Pesci is Angelo Ruggiero, another close associate of the criminal couple.

Some of the distribution rights will be sold off at the Cannes Film Market, which officially kicks off tomorrow.
