Adam Shankman Directing Comedy Remake What Men Want

Taking inspiration from a comedy that hit screens back when Mel Gibson was a relatively uncontroversial choice for a lead seems like an unusual plan, but in an era of gender-swapping movie ideas, it makes some hence. Adam Shankman is aboard to direct What Men Want.

Shankman's a regular on the comedy directing circuit and here he'll have Taraji P. Henson bringing her considerable charisma to bear on the role of a female sports agent struggling in an unfair, competitive world, who finds herself with the power to hear men's thoughts. And aside from wanting to vomit endlessly, she uses the new talent to her advantage as she aims to sign a new basketball star.

Will Packer is producing the film, and with Shankman now on to call the shots, it's on the fast track, an 11 January release date next year already in the books. As for the director, he's aiming to wrap up this film and then segue into Disney's Enchanted sequel, Disenchanted. Busy man...
