Josh and Benny Safdie found indie thriller success last year with Good Time. They're back with a new movie, and Uncut Gems will star Adam Sandler.

It might seem unusual for the brothers to work with someone like Sandler, but then he's dipped into a more dramatic range for a number of films, including Punch-Drunk Love and the more recent The Meyerowitz Stories.

Nothing has been revealed about the story for the brothers' latest film, which they wrote with Good Time's Ronald Bronstein. We can go ahead and try to guess that the title might refer to a gem heist, but then could you have figured out what Good Time was about from just the title?

Scott Rudin and Eli Bush are producing this one alongside one Martin Scorsese, with A24 providing the backing, keeping their relationship with the brothers going.

Sandler has more of his usual comedy stylings coming up, with The Week Of hitting Netflix on 27 April and Hotel Transylvania 3: A Monster Vacation sailing into cinema on 27 July.
