Adam Sandler’s on the move again. Last October it appeared he had locked down his next project with Paramount’s comedy Western **The Ridiculous Six. But things have changed. Now it would seem he’s more interested in a new, untitled romantic comedy for Warner Bros.

According to Variety, he was all systems go on Ridiculous Six, but script issues on that one have led to delays and now he’s shoved it back in line and dragged the new film to the fore.

Ivan Menchell and Claire Sera wrote the original version of the script, which finds a couple going on a terrible blind date. Somehow, this leads to them stuck together with their various kids from a previous marriage. It’s all spun from the idea of blended families (not literally in a blender – that would be more of a horror movie).

Sandler is now on the hunt for other elements including a director (we picture Dennis Dugan and Frank Coraci sitting by their respective phones just waiting for them to ring) and a possible co-star. Wedding Singer/50 First Dates veteran Drew Barrymore is apparently at the top of the list, but no offers have gone out yet. And we’re sure the screenplay will go through a few re-writes before the planned May shoot date.

In case you were in dire need of your next dose of Sandler, Grown-Ups 2 hits on August 9.
