They might not get the best reviews, but Adam Sandler's Netflix movies have certainly seemed to be a success, at least by the streaming service's mysterious metrics. And the actor/writer/producer is keeping on making movies with the company, setting up an untitled Halloween-themed comedy that will also star Kevin James, Julie Bowen, Maya Rudolph, Ray Liotta, Steve Buscemi, Rob Schneider, Michael Chiklis and Kenan Thompson.

Maintaining the list of regular collaborators, Steve Brill is on to direct a script by Sandler and Tim Herlihy. The story will follow Hubie Dubois who, despite his devotion to his hometown of Salem, Massachusetts (and its legendary Halloween celebration), is a figure of mockery for kids and adults alike. But this year, something really is going bump in the night, and it’s up to Hubie to save Halloween. So... it's Adam Sandler's Goosebumps?

There's no release date info yet, but you've got to figure they're aiming for a quick turnaround and to get it out for this year's scary season. Sandler, breaking free of his Netflix contract for a change, will also be seen in the Safdie brothers' Uncut Gems, due in Stateside cinemas in December.
