21 Jump Street Arrests Directors

The film version of classic US cop show** 21 Jump Street** has been slowly trudging through development thanks to actor - and now, in this case, producer - Jonah Hill - and the film might now have directors, in the shape of Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

They're a seemingly unlikely pair, given that their most recent assignment was making CG 'toon Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, but since that both turned out well and made lots of money, it's perhaps less shocking that Sony would be offering them a crack at Jump Street.

Mike Bacall and Hill have been busy adapting the series, which originally aired between 1987 and is best known for launching the career of one Johnny Depp, who the studio is hoping will agree to at least make a cameo in the movie.

With Lord and Miller now attached, it's all pointing to the idea that the new J****ump Street will be a drama with a healthy streak of comedy...
