Awards season kicks into high gear today, after last night's Golden Globes ceremony and this morning's announcement of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts nominations 2005. Yes, our very own, homegrown awards are approaching, and frankly it looks like Martin Scorsese's The Aviator is flying ahead. Martin Scorsese's The Aviator got a huge 14 nominations and must be the front-runner for Best Picture. Since it was only eligible in 15 categories, that's a resounding success for the Howard Hughes biopic
