Take all of your cosy childhood memories of watching The Muppets in any form – The Muppet Show, The Muppet Christmas Carol, even Muppets From Space – and lock them firmly away. We’ve got a new poster from The Happytime Murders, a no-holds-barred puppet crime-comedy from director Brian Henson, which sees Melissa McCarthy team up with with a fuzzy-felt police partner to track down a serial killer targeting the former stars of a beloved kids’ TV show.
As the tagline suggest, there’s sex, murder and puppets involved here – and if you haven’t seen the film’s very red-band, very NSFW trailer yet, prepare to see all three of those things in combinations that can’t be unseen.
The Happytime Murders will crash into cinemas and crush any vestiges of your youthful innocence from 27 August.
