Empire’s latest cover star is a survivor...unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality. Yes, the Xenomorph is back in Alien: Covenant, Ridley Scott’s back-to-basics return to the franchise he started in 1979. It seemed appropriate to have the iconic Xenomorph back on our cover, ready for her close-up, some extraterrestrial drool hanging from her monstrous muzzle. Take a look at the cover below.

Empire subscribers will already have started to receive copies of their exclusive limited edition cover, which we revealed last week, depicting the Xenomorph in a specially-created design by Jacey.

That acid-blood-curdling cover is the mere tip of a magazine-shaped iceberg, including eight pages of Alien: Covenant coverage direct from the Australian set of the film, plus 162 pages (chest)bursting with movie exclusives, news, previews and reviews.

Issue #336 of the world’s biggest movie magazine goes on sale in all good and evil newsagents from Thursday 20 April; to get limited edition covers days before everyone else, subscribe to Empire here{ =nofollow}.

Alien: Covenant, meanwhile, arrives in the UK on 12 May.
