Although the Looney Tunes have seemingly starred in almost as many video games
as cartoons, the majority of their escapades have been unmitigated trash.
Thankfully, Back In Action goes some way to redressing the balance. Imitating the movie, the game finds Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny on a globetrotting quest to find the Blue Monkey Diamond before it falls into the hands of the evil Acme Corporation.
The game makes good use of the Looney Tunes licence and each character is equipped with familiar skills; Bugs, for example, can use
a hula girl outfit to distract enemies, while Daffy can sustain horribly disfiguring attacks yet pop back into shape moments later. The simple platform-hopping, puzzle-solving action wont appeal to anyone over the age of 12, but Back In Action does a fine job of capturing the anarchy and slapstick humour of the classic Warner Bros toons.
