As with any Disney flick, Chicken Littles cinematic debut is being heralded by a blitzkrieg of merchandise almost as formidable as the feathered protagonists fear that the sky is falling down. But while the sweet sentimentally of the movie may be a little tame for kids weaned on Dick & Dom and The Simpsons, the game at least offers an imaginative take on the big screen schmaltz.
Liberally mixing gaming styles, Chicken Little punctuates the simple platforming action with driving, flying and shooting sequences, helping bring variety to an otherwise clichéd quest and stopping young players growing tired of the cute, candy-coloured challenges.
A shoddy camera and dumbed-down action mean the games not suited to anyone older than a McFly fan, but the sumptuous in-game movies, slick graphics and voice acting from the original movie talent makes Chicken Little a charming extension of Disneys latest kiddie pleaser.
