Daddy-daughter stress over the other man in her life is a well-used comedy plot, and the challenge is finding something fresh to do with it. Why Him? At least has the combined talents of people such as Bryan Cranston, Megan Mullally and James Franco, and has put out a new, red band (mostly for swearing) trailer that you can see below.

Cranston is Ned Fleming, an overprotective, loving dad who adores his smart, sensible daughter Stephanie (Zoey Deutch), who is studying at Stanford. But when he, his wife Barb (Mullally) and son Scotty (Grffin Gluck) go to visit her for the holidays, he discovers to his horror that she's dating Laird, an obnoxious, awkward and downright odd "internet zillionaire".

Laird, eager to be considered one of the family and win over Ned in particular, goes on an all-out charm offensive. Or at least, what he considers to be charming, whereas the man he wants as his future father-in-law mostly just finds it offensive. And Ned's frustration grows as Laird starts to win over other members of the Fleming clan...

Director John Hamburg wrote Why Him? based on a story by Jonah Hill and Ian Helfer, and it'll be out in the UK 26 December. So it's topless Franco for boxing day. Hooray?
