With The Wolverine fast approaching its release date, 20th Century Fox is pulling out all the stops to yank punters into the cinema. Part of that campaign includes releasing a full clip from the film, which, given the subject, does not find Hugh Jackman’s Logan quietly taking tea in a temple. Instead, it’s a rip-roaring chunk taken from the Bullet Train battle sequence. Check it out…

This is the scene we've glimpsed since the early trailers, and while there were initially concerns about the slightly low-rent effects, the finished take is much more impressive, particularly with the sound design in place.

Here, Wolverine takes on several sword-and-gun-wielding would-be assassins, leaping about the speeding carriages and using his claws to stay attached to the train while others fly off.

With luck, it’s a good sign for Wolvie’s latest cinematic outing, one that sees him in modern-day Japan trying to forget his past while confronting an offer that could change his life.

With James Mangold calling the shots and Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Rila Fukushima and Tao Okamoto also in the cast, The Wolverine will be out on July 25.
