It’s been 17 years since director Amy Heckerling brought the world Clueless, starring a young Alicia Silverstone. If that wasn’t enough to make you feel old, we don’t know what will. But age and youth are very much on their minds, along with fangs, as they reunite to make a new comedy, Vamps. The trailer has arrived and can be viewed above.

Vamps finds Silverstone and Krysten Ritter as Goody and Stacy, two still-youthful old-timers who like nothing more than to wake at dusk, head out to the party scene, hook up and then retreat to their stylish coffins as the sun rises.

But they’re growing a little bored of being forever young and, despite their great age, they’re sick of the dating game. Stacy falls for the handsome Joey (Downton’s Dan Stevens) who brings with him more than a little family trouble. How so? His surname is Van Helsing…

From the looks of this, the movie could provide some decent chuckles, even if it does seem to go for the easy laugh a lot of the time. But with a game cast that also includes Wallace Shawn, Sigourney Weaver, Richard Lewis and Justin Kirk, we’re keeping our fangs crossed.

The latest look at the fang club hits the US on November 2, though there’s no word on a UK release yet.
