If you’re the sort of person who considers walking to the shops for milk a bit of a trek, you might want to watch the trailer for Tracks, the true story of a woman who walked a little bit further just to see if she could, for some perspective. The first trailer has arrived via Yahoo and can be seen below.

Tracks charts the story of Robyn Davidson (Mia Wasikowska), a young woman who leaves her life in the city to make a solo trek through almost 2,000 miles of sprawling Australian desert. Accompanied by only her dog and four unpredictable camels, she sets off on a journey of self-discovery, all the while being told by everyone that she’ll never make it. Along the way, she meets National Geographic photographer Rick Smolan (Adam Driver) who begins to photograph her voyage.

With luck, this will avoid the schmaltzier pitfalls that can damage a real story like this, and instead focus on the ambition, struggle and achievement involved in Davidson's journey. With Emma Booth, Melanie Zanetti and Jessica Tovey in the cast, the film is out here on April 15. Please note that if you leave the cinema inspired to adopt a camel, prepare to spend the rest of your life covered in bruises and spittle.
