Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Teaser Trailer Lands

You know the drill: there are some turtles, right, and they mutate, right, and they're ninjas, right, and they're teenagers. Right? Well, yes, but the first trailer for the Michael Bay-produced cinematic take on the beshelled pizza-chompers who are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shows that there's a little bit more to it than that.

The teaser is light on plot details, but establishes William Fichtner as a shadowy evil businessman figure / Shredder and Megan Fox as plucky journalist April O'Neil. TCRI Laboratories are the folk behind the green goop seen in one shot, and so it's a safe bet they're also the guys behind the turtles' mutation (but perhaps not their love of italian food). The big shock for fans here is the claim that April O'Neil's dad was involved in the creation of the turtles - shades of The Amazing Spider-Man there.

With Jonathan Liebesman calling the shots, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles also features Danny Woodburn, Alan Ritchson, Pete Ploszek, Jeremy Howard, Noel Fisher and Will Arnett. It’ll be out here on October 17.
