Old Timers Gets Ready To Roll

Ocean's Eleven meets The Bucket List

According to Forbes, Sidney Kimmel is one of the world’s richest men, with a net worth of $1.1 billion (that’s about, at a rough guess, about $1.1 billion more than Empire’s gross worth, although only a billion more than the budget of Lizard In A Blizzard).

And today, through his production company Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, he shelled out some of his hard-earned on a spec script by playwright Noah Haidle, entitled Old Timers. And we can’t say we blame him – this one sounds very promising.

The film will revolve around two conmen in their sixties who, after one of them becomes terminally ill, get their old crew together for a night of debauchery and criminal shenanigans.

So, it’s Ocean’s Eleven meets The Bucket List, then. And as pitches go, we’d buy that for a dollar. As long as Haidle, for whom this would be his first feature film, can keep a lid on the schmaltz, this should be worth watching, and could even become something of a magnet for older actors, like The Expendables for OAPs.

Any ideas for casting, readers? You know where to leave ‘em. In the meantime, we’re off to start busking outside Uncle Sidney’s office.
