With the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy's death fast approaching, the media will soon be filled with history buffs and conspiracy theorists expounding on the President's death. Parkland **does for JFK what Emilio Estevez's **Bobby **did for his brother, depicting the lead-up to and aftermath of his assassination from multiple viewpoints. They include Billy Bob Thornton as the head of Dallas’s Secret Service, Paul Giamatti is amateur lenser Abraham Zapruder, Marcia Gay Harden as the head nurse at Parkland, the hospital to which the dying president was taken, and Zac Efron as a rookie doctor. You can also spot Jeremy 'Zero Dark Thirty' Strong as a dead-ringer for Lee Harvey Oswald, James Badge Dale as his brother and Jacki Weaver as mamma Oswald.

The movie is adapted from Four Days In November by Vincent Bugliosi, the attorney-turned-author who, in his former profession, put Charles Manson behind bars in the Tate-LaBianca murders. It follows a dying Kennedy into hospital, where Efron's rookie doctor has to work on him alongside Marcia Gay Harden's chief nurse.

They were told the President would be on the way, but not why. "No-one was prepared for what was coming. They thought the president had the flu," Landesman tells USA Today. Then there’s Zapruder (Giamatti), the witness who happened to be filming the motorcade as it came past, resulting in one of the most famous recordings ever put on film. "That 26 seconds of film changed his life and all of our lives forever," explains the director. "It's the most examined and investigated piece of celluloid in the history of film."

Parkland will be out in the US on September 20 and arrives here on November 8, a fortnight before the anniversary of the incident. Click here for more.
