New Trailer For The Heat

We’ve had one version of the trailer for the new Sandra Bullock/Melissa McCarthy mismatched buddy cop comedy** The Heat** already, but now a swearier alternative is ready to whack itself into your eye sockets and earholes. Take a look below.

Bullock plays Sarah Ashburn, an ace FBI agent who is seen as far too much of a stickler and not enough of a people person by her colleagues in the Bureau.

So naturally the last person she’d want to be partnered up with is Boston PD detective Shannon Mullins (McCarthy), a loud-mouthed, uncouth, brash and brazen officer who thinks nothing of threatening her suspects and tries to run down drug dealers. The pair have to find a way to work together when they’re paired to take down a ruthless drug lord.

With Bridesmaids’ Paul Feig directing from a script by Parks And Recreation writer Kate Dippold, The Heat certainly appears to promise a sweary good time, with plenty of laughs from the pairing of McCarthy and Bullock. We just hope it can pull off the trick of getting the usual emotional beats in there (you know they’ll be part of it) as smoothly as Feig’s last film managed the trick.

The Heat is on from April 5.
