Though the first film didn’t quite live up to the promise of that Grindhouse trailer, the second takes the theory that what apparently worked then will be even more fun if you ramp up the madness now. And yes, that’s Mel Gibson in a cape fighting our hero (Danny Trejo).
If you enjoyed the original Machete, you’re probably going to get a kick (and a punch, and a helicopter blade to the head) from the parade of people here, including Sofia Vergara, Lady Gaga, Amber Heard, Antonio Banderas, Cuba Gooding Jr., Carlos Estevez (Charlie Sheen, in case you wondered), Alexa Vega, Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez, who are all trying to avoid being hit by flying body parts.
