Update: another new clip is online, featuring more of Sandy and George being flung about, trying to grab ahold of something, anything, to survive. You can find that at the bottom of the page.

Chances are you already watched the first trailer for Alfonso Cuarón’s **Gravity, and decided whether you would be up for watching it based on your desire to see the vertigo-inducing shots of Sandra Bullock and George Clooney being flung about in space. We doubt this new promo will do much to change your mind, but it still makes the film look both terrifying and visually beautiful.

Bullock is Dr. Ryan Stone, a medical engineer in orbit for her first shuttle mission, working alongside veteran space jockey Matt Kowalsky (Clooney), on his last trip before retirement.

While they’re on a routine spacewalk tragedy strikes and their shuttle is destroyed in a random accident. The pair find themselves suddenly very much alone, tethered only to each other and floating off into the inky depths. There’s no radio contact with Earth, and as panic sets in, they apparently discover the only way to get home might be to go deeper into space.

This fresh footage is really just more of the accident, but it gives more of the drama between Kowalsky and Stone as he tries to help her. You can read more about what we saw of the movie at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con right here; some of this footage appeared there, but in longer form and with a different soundtrack. Gravity, meanwhile, is out on October 18.
