Jobs Trailer Loads Online

Given that we got used to seeing him bearded and sporting a black turtle neck, announcing the release of the next shiny piece of Apple kit at keynote addresses, it’s almost hard to picture Steve Jobs as a young man. But that’s what the filmmakers behind Jobs have done, with Ashton Kutcher as the Mac man in his early days. Check out the trailer, which comes courtesy of Yahoo.

Jobs takes us back to the time of young Steve as he drops out of college to forge his own path. A meeting with Steve Wozniak (Josh Gad) changes everything and sets him on a road to visionary technical innovation and iconic status.

Yet the journey to his big finale as the boss of a reborn Apple didn’t come without serious roadblocks and issues, not the least of which was Steve’s own roaring ego and determination. Along the way he also dealt with disagreements, corporate revolts, losing his own company and hitting low points. Since this is “inspired” by a true story, don’t expect total biographical accuracy here – Wozniak has already disputed at least some elements.

With Swing Vote director Joshua Michael Stern at the helm and James Woods, Dermot Mulroney, Lukas Haas, J.K. Simmons, Matthew Modine and Ron Eldard among the cast Jobs downloads into US cinemas on August 16. We’re still waiting for a UK release date. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, the last segment of the trailer pays homage to the memorable Apple ad below.
