The Coen Brothers' new film, Inside Llewyn Davis, arrives in London riding a wave of critical acclaim and strumming a folk tune on a guitar - no easy feat. And when the film premiered at the BFI London Film Festival, presented by American Express, for its gala screening, the stars and directors were all on hand.
Oscar Isaac stars as the titular Llewyn Davis, a folk singer in 1960s New York who's struggling to get by. Basically homeless and living gig-to-gig, he's in trouble with his best mate's wife, Jean (Carey Mulligan) and hitches a lift to Chicago for a big audition with dissolute jazz man Roland (John Goodman).
Inside** Llewyn Davis** hits UK cinemas on January 24, and the London Film Festival continues until October 20.
